Let’s talk about OSH – Have you ever… heard about Safety II?

Safety II is changing how organizations think about occupational safety and health in complex, fast-moving work environments. Instead of focusing primarily on failures and deviations, it asks a different question: how does work succeed—day after day—despite variability, time pressure, and conflicting demands?

In this edition of “Let’s talk about OSH” we will explore what Safety II means in practice and why it is increasingly relevant for organizations aiming to strengthen resilience and operational reliability.

What is Safety I, what is Safety II, and what really differentiates them? Which methods are typical for Safety II? Why do we need new ways to analyze accidents at work? These are some of the questions that moderator Bernd Treichel will be discussing with the speakers in this year’s first episode.

  • Prof. Dr. Thomas Mühlbradt, Professor of Work and Engineering Psychology, University of Applied Sciences for Economics and Management, Aachen, Germany
  • Mag. Sylvia Ebner, Occupational Psychologist, Head Office of the Austrian Accident Insurance Institution (AUVA), Vienna, Austria
